Preemie Comparison

I had special dolls made that were the exact size and weight of the girls when they were born.  Not dolls to play with but to remember just how tiny they were.  Since Max was the size of the girls when they came home after their two month stay in the NICU I decided to see how he being 5 weeks early compared to those dolls that were 14 weeks early.  Max in these photos is a little more than a week old.  I wish I would have included a ruler to show the scale.  The girls were just under 14" long but it is hard to tell in these photos.   Max also had jaundice and was still really red in these photos.  At birth he had Polycythemia which is an abnormal number of red blood cells that makes babies look more ruddy and red. 

People also always ask who he looks like.  Seems like it changes every day especially as he gets older but I check out this comparison to E&E.  Definitely related.
