The day has come for pierced ears.  I'm pretty sure this is our first case of keeping up with peers because the girls came home from school asking for pierced ears like their friend.  Luckily  in February I had told them that when they were ready to take care of their ears we could get their pierced. 3 months later...they were ready.  The whole event was pretty easy.  We talked about it for a few days leading up and they both said  "yes, no, yes, no, yes I want them".  Then on Saturday after naps they put on "fancy" dresses and said they were ready.   I love earnings on babies and little girls but I also knew that unless they were old enough it would be just another thing I had to do for them (just like i used to wipe, brush teeth, brush hair, put on shoes, put on socks,ect).  But Emily & Ellery have made great independent strides this year and now come out of their rooms full dressed each morning (before we even see them).  They go potty by themselves (most days).  They put on their own shoes and socks and they brush their own teeth and hair (you must have noticed...right?).  So my list of little girl tasks has dwindled.  3 days into the piercing they are twisting and cleaning their own ears each morning and night.  I just get to "make sure" it was done well as I take another quick swipe with the cleaning solution.   So many changes are happening and they are growing older by the minute.  I joke that they are 4 going on 14 but most days they are closer to the teen years than the toddler.  And then a tantrum hits and I realize that nope....they really are just 4.   ;-)   Love it!

Getting ready for gymnastics.  Baby Suzy is wearing a undershirt from when I was a baby.  The girls thought that was so cool. 

I took apart our Pottery Barn chairs to clean the covers.  These are the fun cushions that are usually hidden away.  Ellery thought the pieces would make a great castle.  And they did....as long as you could balance them. 

When I was trying to stuff them back into the covers, I had a difficult time.  My super helpful 4 year old Emily came up and said "um, Mommy?  If you don't know how to put it together then maybe you shouldn't take it apart".  So true little lady...so true!

Still Unpacking

I know you may all be waiting for the big reveal of the house after we moved in....and that isn't going to happen today.  See, the problem is once you start moving in the house just gets messier and messier.  While we've been living and LOVING our new house for the last few weeks I still have a lot of unpacking left.  Until I find office furniture, cabinets for the laundry room, and clear out the basement office I've got piles and boxes spread throughout the house and garage.  Slowly we're chipping away at things but it takes a long time to really be moved in, organized, and decorated enough to take final pictures.  I may have to do one room at a time.   For instance, I don't want to take a photo of the dinning room because as of now all that is in there is a big table, light fixture, and a wine cabinet.   No chairs. I've got wine but nowhere to sit.  Priorities...right??  So until I figure out what I want to do in there that space is unfinished with temporary chairs.   The girls rooms are pretty much done except for art on the walls and finding the elusive kids alarm clocks that I've been searching high and low for.  But...that room will never be as clean as it was before the kiddos were actually living in it.  They are great about picking up their rooms at least once a week...but still.

March for Babies 2012

This weekend was the 2012 March for Babies walk.  Team Singer Twins was out in full force with a team of 30+ walkers.  We are just about $100 away from our goal of $4000 which is just amazing!  This means that including our 4th year of walking we've raised over $16,000 for the March of Dimes.  I'm grateful and SUPER impressed!   Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
