A year ago today we were brought our sweet baby girls home from the NICU for the very first time. I was so excited to get them home but at the same time so very scared!! They were still so tiny and fragile. I was shocked that they actually let us leave. Ellery weighed in at a whopping 5lbs 9oz and little Emily was just 4lbs 10oz. She was too small for the car seat she had to come home in a car bed. Seriously....why would you send such tiny things home with first time freaked out parents. That should be illegal. I'm grateful that they did trust us, though. I took those babies from the NICU and never looked back. A year later I can't believe how easily & naturally Andy and I grew into our roles as parents. It's been the most amazing thing and hardest thing we've ever done.
