Move-in Pictures

I thought once we moved in I'd be able to do the final reveal but the house has been in a state of chaos since we've moved in.  While one room may be clean for a few minutes the rest of them are not.  My office is still piles and boxes.  There is nothing on the walls yet, no framed pics, no art.  Hardly any accessories or decor. Part of that is I haven't found those boxes yet and the other is I want to wait and make sure I love the items I'm putting in my house and putting them in the perfect location.  For example the rug below I really like (and I saw that my fav Do It Yourselvers on Young House Love have the same rug!)but once we got it in the house it was just "eeh".  But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the red and black runner I bought for the garage entry way so I went ahead and ordered the same area rug for the living room.  I know I posted a pic a while ago but can't find it so you'll just have to be surprised in July when I get around to posting the new living room.  However, it doesn't come until July.  So now I'm just (im)patiently waiting.  I ordered it a month ago...just one more month of waiting...but it will be worth it!

On with the few pics I do have

The rug that is now our temp rug.  It's kind of acting as a place mat unfortunately.  The girls drop EVERYTHING on it.  I wish I had the rule about no eating except for in the kitchen...but that ship sailed without me.

Mast Bathroom

Master Tub (finally with a window shade so I don't have to army crawl to avoid flashing the neighbors!)

Master Bedroom (those blue bins STILL need to be unpacked)

Oh, here it is.  This is the rug that LOVE and ordered as an area rug which looks like crap in this pic.  Trust me it's cute.  Super cute.  I'd carpet my whole house in it if I could.  That would be awesome.  Anyway this is the entry way from the garage/mudroom area.

Guest bedroom.
Those curtains have been replaced with something less sheer.  That dresser was a odd shade of green stripes so with a little paint it's now a cute little black, yellow, grey, and white dresser.  The long thing against the wall is the foam cushion I bought to make the seat cushion for the entryway mudroom thing pictured in the prev. picture.  It need to breathe - smelled like chemicals and it needed to stretch out so I put it here.  And here it has stayed for the last two months.  One day I'll get around to working on it. hopefully.

My favorite room the KITCHEN

I do have more than 1 bar stool.  I just wanted to test this out to see if I liked it.  I did.  Now I have two.

Dining room.
My beautiful rustic table was a little too rustic.  So I ordered a glass slab to put over the top.  I feel like my creativity was censored, but it sure beats digging out old food and gross things from all the nail holes and crevices in the table.   I had two small benches made but still waiting to figure out what chairs I want.  I've kind of forgotten that these chairs are temporary.  I just don't pay attention to them anymore.

Living room with furniture

Can't you envision that red rug.  I can't wait....

Stairs to the basement.

Emily & Ellery's basement playroom

Andy's future office.  Ew.

Lovely cupboards the previous owners left.  Now they are 6 wonderful cabinets of organized kid stuff!

My other fav place.  No more running on the tready and squinting at the laptop.  Now I have a big tv!  Actually it's supposed to be Andy's man cave, but I'm not letting that happen.  Elliptical needs to go.  I don't love it and it crowds me on my treadmill.

Main Bathroom.  It's long....

more basement.
This is the original laundry sink from when the house was built 60 years ago.  Perfect for clean up after yard play, swimming (come on please Andy!) art, or Andy coming home dirty from work.  There is a bathroom around the corner but it was the one thing that didn't get a full face lift so it's a little...um old.  And small.  It's perfect for the basement.  I just would rather go upstairs.

Andy's Man Cave

Well that is it.  I'd show you the girls rooms but they are a mess.  They like to change their clothes multiple times a day, but then leave their stuff on the floor.  I'm working on getting them to pick up, fold, hang, or put in the laundry but we're not there yet.  Andy's not even there yet so how can I expect my 4 year olds to be.  HA HA HA sorry Andy!!!!

You need a hard hat to enter the office so I'm not showing you that either.  The only other things missing are the boring rooms like the girls bathroom, the laundry room, and the outdoors.  That is a project for next year.  We have an acre and A LOT Of work to do.  For now I just try not to look outside very often.
