Flu Shots!
I told the girls that they were going to be getting flu shots this week and they responded with a "Yahoo I get a flu shot!". Um...that was not the reaction I was expecting. Especially since they both had been so afraid of shots and Emily even had an aversion to band aids because of all the shots she's had. So I continued the excitement and all day we talked about "flu shot time". They talked about it at school, were excited in the waiting room, and even waited by the door for the nurse to come out and call our names. Once back in the room I thought for sure they'd start to panic but nope they never did. As they were getting the shot they both looked at me with a "um, what the heck was that pinch" kind of look but Andy and I just cheered and they were over it in 2 seconds. Easiest shot experience ever! Thank goodness. Some of the shots they've had in the past have been the hold your kid down while they scream bloody murder kind, so I very relieved that it went so well. It's also proof that my little babies are growing up. They can handle Dr appointments, Echo and EKG tests, shots, all without tears.

Yay! As one of those nurses that gives the flu shots-I am happy to hear it went so smoothly for you all!!
Nice work mommy! It is a great feeling when you are walking out through the waiting room without tears running down their faces. I prepared Maya the same way and she did great too.
It sounds like the girls are taking after daddy and Uncle Joey. They used to have allergy shots every week and would argue in the waiting room...I get to go first. No, I want to go first!
Love, Grammy Linda
Liam had his flu shot this week. He did not cry, but oh my gosh did he glare at that poor nurse! LOL I'd take that over crying any day :)
