December update

Well it's been a while since I've updated the blog, but that doesn't mean that we haven't been busy on the house. The interior is painted although it is hard to tell in the pictures and we've been busy with the trim work around windows and doors. Here are some updated pictures of the things currently going on.

This is the deck off the master. We have to do a waterproof deck otherwise the water will leak into the house. This is the top coat of the stamped concrete. They will be coming back to add a few more stain colors and wipe up the dirty looking stuff.

Andy's pride and joy. The rock has started going up on the fireplace as well as Andy's favorite piece the walnut mantle.

Our new front door was installed - but you can't see the detail of the window. We'll be putting in a temp. door so it doesn't get damaged during the rest of construction.

Here's the insulated great room. The sheet rockers stocked their materials on Friday, so hopefully next week they'll get the sheet rock up and ready for tape and mud. This makes such a difference! For so long you could see just the framing and it was hard to judge the size and layout of each room. Now with insulation it really shows you the true character of each room. I can't wait for sheet rock so I can start figuring out paint colors!

The house is 90% sided so the painter has started to do the painting while we still have the boom truck. Here's the first side with paint and stain on the shingles.
